Was any Casino built for “Winners”???

Another blister of a day here in Arizona, with temperatures well above 90 degrees F. again…

It has been so hot, when we go out during the day, we have to leave the RV air conditioning systems operating for good old Patra, our trusty feline travel companion.  When we got home this afternoon from our travels, in the heat of the day, she looked like she was at spa having the best day of her life!

We were out at 8:30 this morning as the group wanted to go down to the London Bridge, and catch the water ferry and take off across the State Line into California and visit a Native Casino close by to Lake Havisu.  It was about a 20 minute ferry ride across the lake and was quite nice.

Once again Judy was behind the camera and caught all these ducks trying to get on the ferry boat!  That didn’t happen…

Yes, there is a lighthouse protecting the harbour leading up to the London Bridge…

This was our destination for the morning… the Casino.  Many people go to this one… and all the other ones across the States and Canada… Everyone has their own feelings about these places, and my thoughts are they sure did not build this place for winners… the big majority are losers… The incentives are many for people to come here… is it simply another tax????

Most of our group this morning spent the standard $20.00 each on the casino… we had NO winners… well maybe me, as I did not spend 1 cent inside.  Judy kept her loses to a bare minimum of $7.00.   I do not have much incentive anymore to gamble at all and got more of a kick watching everyone else lose their money!  Is this a place of simple entertainment???  Maybe…

After the monetary loss, we all met for coffee and had a blast discussing the merits of a casino…

We were off to Arizona again on the 10:30 ferry.  We walked around the waterfront a bit, and then headed up to a local Restaurant for lunch.

We spent the afternoon doing a bunch of shopping at J.C. Penny’s which is a great place with good prices here…

Next up was a bit of flying the plane, just a bit windy, but no accidents…

Hey, and even my Leafs pulled out a victory today!

Till tomorrow…

  2. WOW, that's hot. At least you got to be on the water for a while. Looks like a fun boat ride.

  3. Looked like a nice boat ride. I'm with you on the casinos too. The only time I'll gamble is if they give me 'free' money as an incentive. Once that's gone, so am I. Good buffets, on occasion, though!
