On the mend...

Maybe I was just too tired last night to blog, and still not feeling great, or maybe I was too ramped up for the big Superbowl Game on TV last night... not sure which or maybe a bit of both. It turned into a great game which was good to see, and sure nice to see New Orleans get to host the Superbowl...they needed it!

We are back to enjoying great weather here again in Florida... lots of sun, mid 70's, simply perfect! Today we continued our recovery from our colds/flu or whatever it is that has us down.

To fill in part of my recovery time I have been tied up in a good book I recently downloaded off of iTunes and a have been reading it on the iPad. Shawn and Jenn gave us a nice iTunes gift card, so I though, why not!

The book is called "Heart Health for Canadians".

Dr. Beth Abramson has done a great job putting this book toghether. I am about 3/4 through it now, but have been really enjoying it. (It sells on iTunes for $14.95. It was available at our library online, but a big line up!)

Many of you will know that back about 7 years ago I needed Triple Heart By-Pass Surgery. When that happens to you, it hits like a ton of bricks, as it just came out of the blue for me. So Judy and I were not really that educated on heart issues, and coronary heart disease. We did a lot of research at the time on the internet, trying to find out information. This book is an ideal way to educate yourself in regard to heart issues.

It describes symptons of all kinds of heart problems, talks about the test that Dr.'s use to discover what is wrong with your heart, and all kinds of information on treatments.

Very well written, and easy for the normal person to understand! If you are looking for this kind of information, consider this book.

Till tomorrow...

  1. This is one topic that none of us can take lightly. Paul has a value issue that he knows will lead to open-heart surgery one day. We also must educate ourselves about this issue.

  2. Another thing that might help you is the book and DVD titled "Forks over Knives." What it encourages is a lifestyle change (forks) rather than surgeries (knives). It changed our lives.

  3. Glad you are starting to feel better, soon good as new. Too bad that the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras are so close together down here. Really turns this place into more of a zoo than ever.
