Hook me up!

We have had a busy weekend, travelling down to Waterloo to visit Deb and Gerard. Had a great time going to Deb's concert, along with Chris and Kristina on Saturday Night.
We are back home now, and trying to get caught up on some blog material.
On Thursday of last week, I had the Jeep and RV down to Bella Vista RV just south of Orillia to have the towing package installed. It is now all complete and turned out simply excellent! Here is a picture of the Jeep all hooked up behind the RV....

They had to dismantle the whole front end of the Jeep to install the necessary base plates and other gear on the front of the Jeep, which enables it to be hooked up...

The system works good, and the Jeep tracks great behind the RV. You cannot see the Jeep while you are driving, just have to trust it is there and all is OK. I can turn on my rear view camera system to check it when I feel the need!

One more attached view...
Here you can see the complete hook up. The two big black bars are the actual hitch arms, holding the Jeep to the RV. The two curly black cables on the outside, are both safety cables that will hold the Jeep if the hitch somehow lets go. The blue curly wire is the wire that feeds all the RV lights directly to the back of the Jeep, so it appears the Jeep is running with full lights while being towed. And the small red curly wire to the left of the blue wire is a break away switch, which will apply the breaks on the Jeep, should all systems fail and the Jeep separates from the RV. The Jeep has an on board electronic breaking system which I will take a picture of and explain a little further on a future blog...

I have a bunch of pictures from the weekend, but blogger is giving me a very hard time tonight on the upload, so I simply gave up..... tomorrow is another day.

till tomorrow...

Hey! Maverick!

Busy day today! Laundry time this morning, and then a quick trip to the Jeep Dealer in Bracebridge to sort out some problems with a new key we bought. This afternoon was busy cleaning up the RV after the trip home from the Farm in the rain... that will make a mess!

Late this afternoon we had to deliver our Jeep to the folks at Bella Vista RV down in Oro, south of Orillia. They are going to install the new Blue Ox tow bar assembly on the motorhome and on the Jeep. I will take the Motorhome down tomorrow, and then tow the Jeep home at then end of the day, hopefully when all the work is done!

Have to give a big "Thank You" to Mary Demerling today, who lent her Volvo to Judy so she could fly down to Bella Vista to pick me up after I brought the Jeep down. It was pouring rain, and originally Judy was going to take the Burgman down.... might have been a bit damp! Thanks again Mary!

So my Cousin Sue at the Farm was inquiring about how I got the name "Maverick" which is in graphics on the drivers door of the motorhome! Back a couple of years ago Judy and I travelled to Cuba to the Veradero Beach area, along with David and Angela, our Friends from Bracebridge. We had a great time, and the weather was perfect for January. David and I decided it would be a great time to rent the little scooters they had at the resort. We were ripping up and down the beach area having a blast. We decided to travel about 1/2 half an hour, to the next Town. David did not have his passport with him, so he decided to go back to the resort and pick it up. After he had about a 5 minute head start, I decided to go and wait for him at the front of our resort. When I got there, I was just going to park in the "drop off zone" which is right at the front of the resort. I could see David's scooter parked on the sidewalk. As I drove up and stopped in front, this bell hop Cuban Guy, comes running out from the front doors just a yelling.... "Hey, Hey Maverick- you can't park there!" Well that was it! After I related this story to David, Angela and Judy, my new name was "Maverick"! So there you are Cousin Sue, that is the big story!

Tomorrow I may tell you why Judy has "Eagle" in fancy graphics on her door!

till tomorrow....

Back to Gravenhurst

Yes, I made it back to Gravenhurst tonight, and dropped Mom off in Orillia along the way. Thanks to my Brother Richard for picking Mom up and dropping her off at the apartment. It made it a lot easier for me without having to navigate around the apartment building with the RV.
Have a few pictures I took as we were leaving the farm.... check out Sue working her butt off in the Garden. Her and Big Peter put a lot of hours into keeping the garden together...

They have flowers growing all over the place so I had to go on a bit of a tour to get the pics.

Not being a horticulturalist, I do not know the names of all these flowers, but I do like taking pictures....
Very impressive....
These are just a sampling of what they have on the farm...

My Mom bought this tree and Big Peter planted it in the back yard in memory of Uncle Art's 90th birthday, and they call it the "Gwen Eva" tree!

By Sunday night the crowd's were thinning out, and this was the group left for dinner!

Mom wanted a picture of Her and the Motorhome, so she could show all her friends at the Church....

Meanwhile, back at the homestead, Judy and Angela were touring all over central Ontario on the Burgman's.... looks to me like this shot was taken in Midland....?????.....

Thanks to David and Angela, Judy had accommodations while I was over on the Farm. She said the weather over the weekend here was great! While at Angela and Dave's place, she would have been playing with Lulu the Cat.... here she is striking the pose....

Tomorrow is clean up day, getting everything back in shape after the trip.... dirty job, someone has to do it...

Also tomorrow, just for my cousin Sue, I will explain how I earned my nickname "Maverick" that you will find in graphics on the door of the RV.

Till tomorrow.....
