Introducing: “Gwendolyn Jean

Judy and I are thrilled tonight to welcome one of the newest Canadians to our Family!
Gwendolyn Jean was born at 1:26 p.m. this afternoon, at the Woodstock General Hospital, and is proud to be the 329th baby born at the Hospital this year, and our third Grand Daughter!
The best news is Kristina and Gwendolyn are both doing very well, and Chris came through like a champion, playing his role as Coach very well!  He is real good at staying very cool, calm and collected!  Well done to all of you!

One proud Pop Pop… (lighting is a little dark, as we did not want to use flash in the pictures, to save her eyes)  It was a strain to hold all of the 6 lbs. 7 oz.

Her name comes from her Great Grand Mother, (my Mother) Gwendolyn, and Jean , (Judy’s Mother).  Below Judy and Chris look on as the baby’s temperature was a little low at birth, so they had to put her under a heat lamp.

Judy just wanted to keep on hanging onto her, once we got the baby’s temperature to where it should be!  She is a sweetheart!

Kristina went into labour around 6:30 a.m. and called us around 7:00.  Chris had to come back home from work, and we all met at the house.  Chris and Kristina headed to the hospital around 8:30… Judy and I headed out for breakfast!
I dropped Judy back off at the Hospital around 9:30 and she got to stay with the kids for the birth… she was thrilled!  All went smooth, however the Dr. was unable to attend as he was in emergency surgery.   Two of the greatest Nurses in the world delivered Gwendolyn Jean and did an absolute great job!

Kristina and Gwendolyn will stay in the Hospital for the night, and then the Dr. will check things over tomorrow and decisions about coming home will be made then.
Bell Canada stock should be up today, as our cell phone was just burning up the long distance lines as Family and friends were notified.
We spent quite a bit of time with the Baby this afternoon, and she slept most of the time, and looked around and waved her arms the rest of the time… no crying!
We all feel very blessed tonight and send a big welcome out tonight to our latest blog follower, “Gwendolyn”!
Ed and Heyduke 50 are our latest blog followers, and would like to say welcome to you both!
Till tomorrow…
