Rescue Mission #2…

Another great day in southern Ontario… nice and warm, lots of sun, and the humidity quit this afternoon.

This morning, I finally got work from Canadian Tire that they had located a new condenser fan for our Jeep Liberty.  It took a week, as it seems to be a very specific fan that was hard to locate.  Canadian Tire were not pleased that it took the supplier a week to locate the fan, that they actually reduced the price of the fan by $50.00 for us!  Perfect.  It only took an hour to install, and all is good again with the Jeep!

This afternoon, I headed over to the tree that is still hanging onto my airplane, with a high grade fishing line.   Twice I got the line hooked onto the branch, but do you think that the plane would come down… NO…  What a problem… going to have to come up with plan B… what do you think Bob???

Other than that, not a lot else went on today… all of our cameras must have been broken today, as I didn’t even get a picture…

Till tomorrow…

  1. That was really nice of them to reduce the price. Doesn't happen often. Sure hope you guys can come up with something so you can get your plane back. Think maybe the local fire department would help you like they help get cats down? LOL

  2. John...are you catching the branch on the upper left in the pic you posted ....you should be able to pull it down enough on an angle to snap it and open the canopy a bit so you can get at the branch holding the lower wing and pull it down.....if that fails .....the axe or chainsaw....of course you will have to do this quickly and be prepared for a quick get away....MAYBE Judy can keep the Jeep nearby on idol with the door open for you.
    Good Luck

  3. I guess a cherry picker is out of the question... probably cost prohibative. There should be tree limbing services in your area, maybe they will take pity and if they have a truck in the area they might just rescue your plane for free or minimal cost.

  4. I'd be looking for kid and offer him a few bucks to climb that tree and get your plane down!

  5. On second thought, you might want to consult a lawyer first just in case!

  6. Sure hope you get your plane back. You might want to take a video while you're working on that task...could be entertaining!!

  7. maybe the wind will knock it out of the tree eventually?..but you will just have to be there when it falls!!

  8. If you were in Arizona you could just haul out some firepower & shoot the branch in half:)) How about a thin lined rope with some kind of grappling device on one end to try & hook the branch & that way at least give the branch a good shaking. Or maybe wait until late October when all the leaves are off the tree...:((

  9. I don't know anything about model airplanes, but have you tried the motor again to see if it'll help to loosen the hold? I guess it's out of basketball range or a big tethered balloon might work to dislodge it.
