More maintenance required…

Never seems to be a shortage of things needed to be done before we head out to the South West for the winter.

Today turned out not bad as far as our weather was concerned, cool, but a bit of sun and very little wind, so a nice fall day.

I started out this afternoon by continuing on with motorcycle maintenance… today was the Suzuki Burgman’s turn.  It needed an oil change, along with a bit of cleaning…

The Burgman is quite different than my Honda, as you cannot see the engine due to all the body parts and cowlings… underneath is the drain plug for the oil release, and the Burgman  comes with a nice centre stand so you do not need to jack it up.

Our motorcycle trailer makes a perfect garage for the bikes… it is very dry, and secure and very easy to load and un-load the bikes…

Judy spent the afternoon helping Kristina out with Gwenny and a few other things around the home.  I came in after working on the bikes, to take Cali out for a walk.  Here we are entering the Standard Tube Trails.  Woodstock has a large Canadian Pacific Rail Yard… Trains are moving back and forth all the time here…

These rail cars in the picture below, contain a very nice cargo.  Each one of these cars contain 12 brand new Toyota Rav 4’s.  They are stacked 3 high inside these cars.  Toyota has a nice new Factory here in Woodstock, that turns these vehicles out.  I was stopped at a crossing the other day, and I counted 50 of these cars go by me, all full of Rav 4’s… yup, doing the math, that would be 600 of them.  The plant here is still not up to full steam after the tsunami hit Japan, and still suffer a shortage of parts, but probably still produce 200 vehicles a day, so that train would only hold 3 days production…

Fall is sure upon us, and the lighting was not terrific for pictures with my smart phone…

The City of Woodstock workers were out on the trails doing some season ending work…

Not too sure how long the tree below has to stand… it was burned at the bottom, you can see the big black area…

Not sure if CP still uses the snow plow that you see below… it looks like an old one.  It has a cab up high on the roof, and if you look at the back right roof, you see the chimney that was used for the stove inside.  Sure could handle a lot of snow though!

Tomorrow I have to go into London, for an ultra scan… after that, I will be heading up to Bracebridge, to spend a couple days with David, who is going in for more surgery on his arms Wednesday… Good luck David, and I will see you in the evening.

Till tomorrow…
