We will never forget…

lest
Of course today being Nov. 11th is Remembrance Day in Canada, and Veteran’s Day here in the United States of America.   Judy and I chose to honour our Veterans this morning by watching the Remembrance Day Ceremony from Ottawa, Ontario.  As we carry our Shaw Direct Dish, we were able to do so, at 9:00 a.m. being 2 hours behind Ontario.
The images below of the Ceremony were taken from the CBC, which is Canada’s Public Broadcast Television.   The first one is the iconic picture of our Parliament buildings, and the National War Memorial.

Many Veterans come out every year… this year it was cold, yet clear, which is a far cry from some years when it rains.

Many Men and Women from our Armed Forces come out for the Ceremony every year.

Many thanks to Service Men and Women in both Canada, and the U.S.A. for your service!  It is appreciated by Judy and I.
I have to highlight the blog of an RV’ing friend, Rick from Rick & Paulette's RV Travels , who wrote a very good blog today regarding his Father, who is a Veteran of WWII.  Do not miss it!   Both Judy and I have memories today, of our own Father’s who served Canada during the War.

Roswell, what a place to crash!

Just to bring everyone up to date on our travels today, we left Carlsbad, and drove the 73 miles north to Roswell, New Mexico… Our Daughter, Kristina, warned us not to be abducted while we are here!   So far, so good.  Apparently you cannot even go out to visit the site where the Aliens landed… it is now closed but for 1 week a year in July!
Before we got away from Carlsbad, we left a bunch of our money though…  Oh well.  We had to fill up with propane to keep our furnace going… only $25.00.  Also we picked up $95.00 of diesel fuel… simply a small amount to top off our tank… and we spent $200.00 for an oil change, and new diesel fuel filter to keep the big Duramax running right.
I took a couple pictures from Master Lube, where we had the work done today… we had lots of time, as we only had a 1 1/2 hour drive north to Roswell.

At times, we had 6 techs, running, wiping, pouring, cleaning, dumping, filling, checking our Endura.  They did a great job!  Good for another 10,000 miles.  Oh, by the way, you will all have to hang in till tomorrow to see the other tour we took yesterday… just too much on the go today!

We pulled into Roswell at 3:00 this afternoon.  This Town gets only 7 days a year that are cloudy!  It was cloudy today! Can you believe it!

Even Patra got some outside time today loving the tree on our site…

Till tomorrow…

  1. It was cloudy in Roswell? That must mean the Aliens are going to be out and about tonight! Keep your doors locked!
