BBBRRRRRRRRRRR....

How does cold and colder sound to you with a bunch of cold rain thrown in just in case you started feeling good at some point during the day! That is what we got today...

Not much on the go, other that a quick trip to Wallmart, and 5 miles put inside the nice and warm and dry walking track we attend!

Judy is a "happy camper" these days, with the nice new table and chairs she scored at a Furniture Store here in Woodstock. It is just the perfect size for us, and the two wings on the table make it very RV friendly! It is all broken in though, as Deb and Gerard helped us with that last night during supper!

Chris and Kristina invited us in for dinner tonight, which was a great ham dinner prepared by Chris! Simply excellent! They had a real nice chocolate cake for desert tonight, and the kids really enjoyed! Kristina supplied these pictures of the kids with cake! Check out Charlie...wow...

Going to make a run up to Orillia tomorrow to see Mom one last time before get away day on Wednesday!

Waterloo Company!

Not too much going on here the past couple of days, as we get ready to take off for the south next week. Did get down to the Rexall Drug Store in Woodstock today, and arranged to have our flu shots! Gotta have those!

On our way into Town today, we did run into Gwenny and Charlie again, playing at the park! Kristina had them there, burning off a bunch of excess energy!

Here they are above, playing on the "splash pad: which of course, has long been turned off, but that did not matter to them! Hey, the sun was shining, but it was cool, but that made no difference to these kids!

This afternoon we were hosts to our good Friends, Deb and Gerard from Waterloo. After Gerard gave me proper you know what, for not stopping in to visit them last week while I was up in Waterloo to pick up our new bike rack, we settled down to help solve a lot of the current problems in the World. Of course you need a certain type of lubrication to be able to do this, and that was not a problem today! All problems were solved in short order!

Now, in the fore ground of the picture, you will see a small part of a new kitchen table and chairs that Judy and I picked up today to replace our old ones in the RV. Deb and Gerard helped us break them in, as Judy did an excellent job preparing a nice roast beef dinner for us all! We had a great afternoon and evening visiting, and lining up our plans to meet sometime next February, probably in Az.! Can't wait!

Going to have to find the long john underwear soon, as it is starting to cool off this weekend big time! Going below zero now at night time on a regular basis... 4 days to go!

Can never get enough practice...

Another nice fall day, with moderate temperatures, and we had quite a bit of sun to boot, so all in all, not a bad day... however, the forecast is maybe not quite so nice...

Today we did a bunch more practicing for getting ready to leave! I mentioned yesterday that we had bought a new bicycle rack to enable us to carry our bicycles this winter down south. Today we hooked everything up to ensure we would have no big surprises on "get a way day!"

So you can see the new bike rack above... it is designed for only two bicycles. You simply put the front and back tires of your bike in those slots you see at the bottom of the rack, and then secure the big hook that you see at the top, to make sure you bike goes no where. This rack simply installs into the trailer hitch that I had already installed on the Cruze, which has a 1 1/4 inch receiver. No part of the bike rack actually touches your car! This is what I wanted.

It only took a couple of minutes to secure the bikes to the new rack. They have a velcro strap for each wheel to be secured at the bottom, where the wheel sits on the rack. The bikes sit about 6 or 7 inches away from the back of the car. There is a special bolt that secures the rack to the receiver, that really does a great job securing the rack to the back of the car. It is very sturdy, and the bikes don't move at all.

Next we put the car up on the dolly behind the motorhome, and took the whole shooting match out for a spin around Woodstock. All is good, and the bikes ride just perfect behind the car. Should have no problems at all hauling them around with us this winter. This is the best bike rack I think I have ever bought. It is sold under the brand name CCM. It is sold at Canadian Tire for $199.00. Well worth it as far as I am concerned.

Other than getting out for some exercise this afternoon, that was about it for the day... count down is on!
