It helps if you can STOP!

So you get your Jeep all tied up to the back of the motorhome and you are just a crusin on down the highway, and all of a sudden a Road Runner runs out in front of you! You jam on the breaks and hope you can stop!

Our chances of stopping hopefully will be better with our Blue Ox Patriot breaking system. It is an electronic box that sits in the Jeep and applies the breaks whenever you do on the RV.

This is what the unit looks like... that silver arm on the left side actually attaches to your break pedal.

This is a view from the front.... the unit is flexible in order to fit just about any type of vehicle that you can flat tow.

These two pads sit against the front of the drivers seat and push against it to apply the breaks.

It is very automated.... all you do is plug it in to the cig. lighter and attach the arm to the break pedal. Turn it on, and it goes through a self test and then is ready to go! It has a break away switch for in the event the Jeep separates from the RV, the brakes will be applied and the vehicle will stop - pronto!

This is a remote control unit that sits in the front cab of the RV. You can manually apply the break on the Jeep if you want, and you can also adjust the gain, or the amount of break applied to the Jeep while you are driving....
I don't have it fully hooked up here, but this is what it sort of looks like when in operation.

I received a comment from AL of the Bayfield Bunch last night, in regard to the pictures of the hitch that I posted last night. He is contemplating taking a Jeep south next year and is looking at the different types of tow packages available. The main Companies producing these systems are Roadmaster, and Blue Ox. I looked at both systems, and decided on Blue Ox mainly due to ease of operation as described to me by the dealers. Time will tell!

I have followed The Bayfied bunch via their blog for about the past two years now....Al and his Wife travel south each winter and helped sell Judy and I on the Arizonia/California area. I learned a lot from reading his blogs and his unique views on life! Al is also an amazing photographer! You can catch this blog at http://thebayfieldbunch.com

Finally got some pictures of our trip to Waterloo over the weekend loaded into blogger tonight. We had a great time visiting Deb and Gerard, and then John and Pat in Alliston on the way home.

You see lots of this in the Waterloo area, that is for sure... reminds me of the day Judy and I lived in good old Mount Forest!

I had to take this picture for Kristina.... just another one for her sign collection...

We passed by this rural property that had a great water wheel working....

This apparently is one of the longest covered bridges in Ontario, and is known as the Kissing Bridge. You have to kiss as you go through it....

I was sitting in the front with Gerard, and there was NO kissing that was going to happen!

All in all a great weekend and lots of fun!

Till tomorrow...
