Since we arrived last week, we have been kept busy! Visiting with the kids a lot, and having a ball. There is also a work component here, as they own a 4 acre parcel of land, so you can imangine how much yard work there is!
As soon as we arrived at the kid's house, Judy had a whole bunch of Birthday presents for Paige who turned 5 years old, so that was the priority, with lots of help from big sister Emmie of course!
Shawn got me to help him assemble two big pool patio boxes, to hold all the pool toys... they were easy to put together and did not take long...
Enjoyed a Princess Birthday Party for Paige on Saturday as well...
The Princess' were hamming it up in front of the photo op wall...
On Monday Paige got to take all her Grand Parents with her to School, to attend the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Here she is above doing Easter Egg Bingo!
Of course you get to open all the eggs to see what is inside... all kinds of goodies...
One of the Mom's made these little Easter Egg Cars, out of a twinkie no less... pretty cool!
Next we were onto some work this week. There have been a few trees fall down over the winter on the lot, so I set to work cutting them up with the chain saw. Judy was my executive assistant, and gathered up all the logs and transported them using the wheel barrow...
Shawn borrowed this nice Tundra from a Dr. Friend of his, and it came in real handy for the big stuff!
I forgot to take the before pic of this fallen tree, but here is what was left... the yard is really slanted downward here, and this added a challenge to the job... we actually moved the logs down hill to the truck waiting on one of the switchbacks on the driveway, and then drove them back up to the house... a lot easier!
Next we were onto mulch! Last September when I came for a week to help Shawn... we mulched big piles of tree branches to make way for the new pool... we had to move a bunch of this down to the road, to fill in some bare spots in the landscaping. Below is a pic of the mulch installed... Judy did the spreading... what a worker she is! Strong like Bull!
We used a trailer for the mulch, and then Ryan, (Jenn's Brother...) and I found some more firewood that had to go back up to the house... Shawn will be burning forever!
Found this picture of Shawn and Jenn on my iPhone that I did not take... seems Emmie used my phone while I was relaxing with my eyes closed...
Anyways, as you can see we have been busy... not much spare time, but enjoying great summer type weather now, which makes that work a whole lot easier to do outside!
Till tomorrow...
