If you dig it… ya gotta fill it!

Yes, when you dig out a hole, you end up having to fill it… Here I am below starting quite an operation today of screening out top soil to place into the new flower bed.   In the foreground of this picture you cannot see the large flower garden I am removing… it took pretty well 4 1/2 hours to complete this job today… but was worth it!

Slow but sure, the screened top soil started to build up… oopppsss, what is that in the picture below????

After a quick zoom with the computer, Judy caught this Robin feeding off the earth worms that I moved out to the front yard… it was like a buffet for him!

Will have to check with the boss, but I think we still need a bit more soil… they still have an extra flower garden out back that has to go!  We will see.

Judy spent the day playing and taking care of Gwenny…

The weather was cooler today, but nice for working outside!  Watch out though, the sun and warmer temps are coming!

Till tomorrow…

  1. The garden is going to add such beauty to the front of the house. Can't wait to see the finished product.

  2. We have Robins that sit and wait for us to finish our weeding. Then they come in and dine like kings.

  3. So glad to see that you are taking such good care of the birds in your neighborhood. It's really going to look good when you get it done.

  4. Oh that garden is going to be lovely! I do occasionally secretely wish I could have a bigger garden bed like that... but it's definitely worth the trade-off!

  5. Four and a half hours work is definitely a good days work for us retired people. It was cool here too and very windy as well.

  6. After all of that physical work, I'm betting that you secretly wished for a long soak in one of those great hot springs spa pools in DHS.

  7. Looking good, John. Maybe it needs just a bit more topsoil - 3 1/2 more hours of hard labour ought to do it.
