How fast is “Hyperspeed” ??????

Nice warm day today.  We were up and at it kind of late…. felt nice to sleep in…  Had a nice breakfast with the kids, and the Chris and I decided to head into Gravenhurst, to visit our local computer shop.

I have a HP laptop that runs Windows Vista, but it has been brutally slow lately, and has been for a while.  The general consensus was that I might need more RAM.  Chris figured out, I only had one GIG of RAM on board, and that is simply not enough for Vista.  So, $59 later, I had a total of 2 1/2 Gig of RAM.   Well, that was enough to turn this thing into turbo boost!  What a difference.  Works now like all computers should!  Very Happy!

Yes, I had to pay HST on the purchases today…  :-(( which kind of reminded me of this cartoon I found in the Toronto Star the other day…

Riot Police still around

While we were at the computer store, we found a new (well, re-built) computer for my Mother.  Her computer has been really bad, very slow…  Judy and I went down tonight to install the new tower for her, and get it set up.  Took about 4 or 5 hours, but overall, went well.  It runs windows XP.  We got it all set and running… including the Email, the printer, the internet…. all good to go!  Mom does well on her computer for being 86 years old!  Happy computing Mom!

That is about it for today, tomorrow is supposed to be great weather, so maybe we can get the bikes out for a bit…

Till tomorrow…

  1. We did that same 'hyperspeed' last summer & it made a big improvement....for awhile. Our computer is back to it's slow ways again so I think we are going to have to bite the bullet & look for a more powerful up to date computer soon.
