A day with the Grand's...

Ooopppsss.... sorry about the miss fire on last nights blog... we had spent the day travelling to Ottawa, and I was helping Shawn change a serpentine belt on his Van last night, so just no time for blogging...

Today was a great day, as we had to take care of Emmie and Paige for the day. The weather is a bit off, with overcast and cloudy sky, but that did not dampen the day.

Things may appear a little different today, as I am doing the blog direct from blogger, with no Windows Live Writer on my Son's laptop, as I forgot my laptop back at the RV... oh well.

The kids were able to get outside and play a bit this morning while the weather was not bad...

Always time for a swing...

On Wednesday night we had a little visitor, Sophie came over for a while. She is a good friend of the Ottawa Hollingers... Her Mom and Dad went to see Harry Potter...

Paige and Emmie put on a dress up show for us today...

Just lots of fun going on in Ottawa.

While playing with the kids today, I was amazed at how many of the toys out there today play music or talk to the kids... check these out...

Paige has a horse that plays music and talks and sings...

Who ever heard of a broom that talks???

Or a tea pot that has sound...

This was only a small sampling of the toys they have that sing, dance, play songs, talk, walk, crawl, or just about anything you want it to do.

I remember as a kid, any toy that I had that needed a battery, was real big and heavy, and the battery was ALWAYS dead! Not today...

Till tomorrow...

  6. Nice videos of a great day with the 'Grands'. Yes, today's toys have come a long way from the 'lettered blocks' we used to play with to learn our 'letters'.

  8. How much fun is that. What a great yard for the youngsters and so many fun toys. My four granddaughters are now 9-14 years old and I STILL keep a selection of dress up clothes in the closet for them...and they still love to use them. Unfortunately, they no longer play with talking horses or teapots :((
