Now that is one TUFF GPS!

Started today off at 9:00 with Judy running out of the RV to go to the pool for aerobics in the pool. I guess they have quite a few go and it is quite popular. She looked more "fit" when she got back an hour later!

While she was gone I was doing email stuff, and received a skype phone call from Kristina, and we were have a good old chat, when Shawn and Jenn and Emmie came on and I videoed a few minutes with them to see Emmie in her new room, and then had a 3 way conference. Love that skype!

After the conference call it was time to get on with the Day! Here is what Judy did: apparently that is a Dr. Oz book...

Here is what I did: the motorcycle trailer was a mess after being hauled over 2,200 miles around Canada and the US, so I spent 1 1/2 hours cleaning it! It is all spic and span now, ready for the next adventure. We use it as a bike garage while we are here, and park the bikes inside every night. Next job..... the RV .... yuck..... it is only a bit dirty, but will take a few hours work.




After lunch we headed out on the bikes, as it was sunny and 25 degrees, (yipee). We wanted to check out some accommodations for friends that may be coming to visit and we found some.... a nice Comfort Inn, real close to us.

Now, get ready for this one.... When we left the Comfort Inn, I was planning a taking a back road into Yuma as we wanted to go and check out a Church, and I had planned the route on my GPS. The GPS was attached to my bike windshield with a suction cup mount, and well, ya, you sort of can guess what happened, I was going like 60 klms. and the suction cup decides it no longer has any suction, and oh- oh.... there goes the GPS....yikes.... I could hear it hit the road under me and my heart just kind of cringed... and Judy had to swerve I think to miss it... Well, I pulled over and ran back to pick up the pieces, and low and behold, there was Lola, sitting on the road, still running my trip, and she was telling me to turn "left" Can you believe it! I now highly recommend the Tom Tom XL One GPS, that is really meant for use in your car, but I try and make it do on my Motorcycle also, why not. It now has a few scratches it did not have before, but is still working fine. Judy just shook her head, and kind of gave me the "you gotta be kiddin look"....

On our way into YUMA, we drove this highway that took us right by this farm land, and you could not believe how much cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower they have growing, yes, in the middle of the desert... They have to irrigate it all, it is unbelievable... hundreds and hundreds of acres... here are a couple of pics.... oh, it is also funny to see the farm fields separated from each other by a row of palm trees...

We stopped to fill the bikes with gas and took this picture showing the Palm Trees in the middle of the farm fields...

We had trouble find the Church with a GPS, so I decided to go to plan B and we headed out to the southerly most Town in Arizona, "San Luis". It is on the Mexican border. We sort of got lost on the 20 miles drive out there, it was all farm fields, and was just perfect weather for bike riding, so we really didn't care... I finally stopped and re-mounted the GPS, tempting fate, and we were able to navigate into San Luis. All the people that work those fancy farm fields come from Mexico through San Luis... It is a busy spot. The Americans also have put up the biggest fence you have ever seen, to keep Mexicans out... Here are some pics of that...

Hard to get close enough to get a picture of the crossing point, but this is it... we were illegally parked... Judy was giving me the "evil eye" and wanted to get moving again....

On the way to the town, we came across a satsuma orchard.... they are like orange, or tangerines, and there were thousands of them on these trees... also if you look, we were real close to the Yuma airport, and the U.S. Marines fly out of here, and a Stealth Fighter took off right over our heads and across this orchard, you can see how low he is...

When I was getting pictures of the fence, I found this sign for our Daughter Kristina, she took a bit of Spanish in her day...

On the way back to Yuma, Judy wanted to stop at the Cocopah Casino and double our money.... well no, not really, she wanted to do a bit of shopping.... it was a neat spot, very modern and run by the Cocopah Indians.

You can stay right beside the Casino in your RV. Lots of people were doing it...

We made it back to the RV this afternoon just in time to watch Toronto beat Montreal 3 to zip, to atone themselves for the loss to Buffalo last night. Good game.

Right after the game, about 8:30 we headed to the hot tub that was in full use tonight. Lots of Canadians, and two Americans...

Had my camera and took a couple pics of how people decorate for Christmas...

I like this one... it is kind of hard to take these and hold the camera still long enough for about a 2 second exposure....

Phew.... what a day, time for bed.
