Motorcycle Mania in Florida...

Another scorcher here in Florida today... seems they have turned the heat right up the last few days! Actually got a big section of the RV waxed today before 10:00 a.m. when it started to heat up! Try to get the rest done in the next few days, before we leave around the 15th.

This afternoon Judy and I took our motorcycles up Lake Wales to visit the library and stock up on some new DVD's. It was a great afternoon for a ride, topped of with a small ice cream cone at the Frostbite! It was good!

Judy is getting ready this evening to take off the the bi-weekly meeting of the Highland County Ridge Runners Motorcycle Club down in Sebring. We go down and enjoy dinner at the meetings, and meet a bunch of people... We had a whole group of us from our Park head down tonight...

That is Mark above on his nice silver Goldwing...

His wife Marsha, has a nice yellow Goldwing, that has been triked! That is Lloyd behind her on his Goldwing... lots of Goldwings...

We always raz Marsha with her fake pony tail...

Leonard and Janice joined us on their real nice Harley...

Sure was a great night for riding... we all had a ball!

Till tomorrow...

Gator hunting in Myakka State Park...

We probably picked the best day of them all to go over to Myakka State Park with the kayaks. It is the largest State Park in Florida, and is a great place to Gator hunt!

Tom and I are getting on all our Gator hunting gear...

I am in fine form above... gotta find me a Gator!

Right away I thought I had a gator in my sights... but no it was a bird... oh well.

Seems like there were a lot of water birds out and about today... what a great spot!

We had all our ducks lined up, as we headed south along the river... it was like going through a jungle...

Close, but again... no gator! There were a pile of turtles we ran into along our trip, and this to me was a good sign, because Gators love turtle soup!

Darn... another bird keeping an eye on us from high above...

What the....??????.... don't worry folks... just a perscribed burn being completed in the Park today... we have run into these before here in Florida. Prevents major fires from cropping up!

WAIT... WHAT IS THAT!!!!!!!

LOOK OUT JUDY...

YIKES... augh, not to worry, only looks like a 12 footer... we don't worry about them until they are a least 15 feet big!

Augh... look, a baby alligator, isn't that sweet... don't worry, mamma can't be too far off!

Hey, there is Judy sneaking up on mommy! It is a funny thing with gators, they are actually afraid of us, and if you end up getting a little too close, they just swim into the water and sink to the bottom of the river. There are hundreds of gators in this Park, and they have not ever had a problems with Gators going after the humans...

OK, so now that is about a 20 footer above... you don't really want to get him mad!

They offer air boat rides inside the park... the lake is not very deep, so airboats can go in very shallow waters.

This is the restaurant and gift shop above, after we finished our 7.7 miles kayak ride, yes, that is right, 7.7 miles, we all enjoyed an ice cream sitting out on the deck.

They built this real neat tower, and tree top trail in the park. They tower was 76 feet up in the air... got a great view of the park from the top.

We had a great day, enjoyed it all, and when we got back home, we had the cranes over for a visit this afternoon!

We got to finish off the day with a nice call on Facetime, from Paige, and her Dad. Paige was showing us her latest dance moves, and all of her stuffed animals that can sing and dance!

Till tomorrow...

Whew... the heat is kicking in...

Wow... the sun can sure come to life in Florida... it was a real warm one today. I could tell as soon as Tom and I started walking at 7:30 it was going to be hot. Did not get the official, but it had to be into the 90's by mid afternoon today.

After walking I spent a bunch of the morning working on RV maintenance. Did a bunch of cleaning, and some spot waxing on the rig today before the high temperatures took over. Cleaned out a few of our RV bins, getting ready to travel soon. Not hard to put in the morning doing lots of different little things it seems. Judy was busy doing a bunch of computer stuff, making reservations etc... and then took on the laundry job.

After lunch I had a bunch of plans to continue working on the RV.... however, the sun took over, and I lost a bunch of energy, and ended up stoping work. You have to know when to quit sometimes!

This afternoon Judy took out her bowed psaltery to provide some entertainment. If you look at the picture above, I am holding her iPad mini, which is actually tuning the instrument. A great free App that Judy downloaded allows her to tune the many strings to perfection! It is also very quickly done. The sound is perfect after the tuning is complete and Judy practiced for over an hour this afternoon, before we headed down to Tom and Cheryl's for happy hour.

Tomorrow we are off on a alligator hunting safari with our kayaks again... maybe we will get one this time.

I hate to mention how my Wife got me good this morning, explaining it is alligator mating season, and that Fred, our local resident alligator was supposedly on the run through the Resort looking for action! Took me a bit to realize it was April 1st... she might have got Kristina and Gwenny with close to the same gag on Facetime it seems...

Till tomorrow...
