Lightening hits Woodstock Meadows Golf Course...

Yes, I got out today and put in a round of golf with David. It was a great day weather wise here, although it is raining as I post this blog tonight.

When David and I were wrapping up our game, we were on the 17th tee, and heard all the yelling and screaming! What happened... did lightening hit someone???? Nope, one of the guys in the group playing in front of us had hit a "Hole in One!" He was pretty happy! It was on a par three, and not an easy one, as it was about 130 yards. (Why do golf courses still measure in yards anyways???)

After the game David invited Judy and I back to their nice new home for a cold refreshment... perfect way to finish off a game this afternoon.

Judy and Kristina were hot today and decided to head out to the RV with the kids for a swim...

Gwenny had a new pool cover up to model, and new deck shoes!

Judy said Gwenny was trembling she wanted to get in the pool so bad! She loves the water, and it will be hard to keep her out of the pool this summer it seems.

They reported the pool was a bit cool yet, around 75 deg. F.

As usual, our park pool was simply sparkling clean as it always is. Jane (Park Owner) takes care of this pool every morning, and it shows!

Now, in my books, Charlie looks a little bit peaved that he did not make it into the pool today.

Till tomorrow...

Welcome to our sauna...

After reaching for our Furnace Button for the past month, today we were all grabbing for the A/C buttons, as Ontario was sweltering over 30 deg. C. today. Not complaining though... I like the hot!

This morning was real nice, and I went out and washed the Jeep, as we had it full of bugs from our trip home late last night. Nice and clean now...

This afternoon I accompanied Kristina and Charlie over to London, as Charlie had an appointment at the Dr. Seems he is eating quite a bit, as in the past week, he has put on a pound! Yikes...

Finally found our camera tonight, and got a couple pictures I wanted to show...

On Tuesday night, I made supper for the kids, to try and help out. I do know my way around the kitchen a bit you know... I decided I wanted to make something different, that I have never made before, so I found a recipe for Sausage Pepper Ziti Marinara! Check out the picture above, and eat your heart out Rick and George (AKA Weber Q Man...) How good was this dish???

Just ask Gwenny, who simply loved Pop Pop's culinary delight! Oh, by the way, I found the recipe for this dish right off the web site that belongs to Olive Garden. This is one of our favourite Restaurants in the U.S. and they actually post their recipes for over 52 dishes... how to make them, and what to put in them! Turned out pretty good, even if I say so myself.

No Ziti for poor old Charlie though, who slept through dinner...

When I was in at the kid's house today, Chris' Dad dropped by, as he spent the morning taking care of Gwenny today. He invited me out to play golf tomorrow. Can't wait... problem I have is that David is an Ontario Supreme Court Judge, so I am going to have to be real careful about what I say while golfing... especially about all that missing money when I worked at the Bank a few years ago... ssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Word going around is tomorrow is another nice day! Here is hoping.

Till tomorrow...

Busy busy Blogger...

Too busy last night to put the blog together, and besides, left our camera in at the kids place, so all my pictures were not available... so no blog... gives you a chance to recharge though.

Just as busy a day today, as it is 10:30 p.m., we just got in the door from travelling all day. Started off this morning driving over to Richmond Hill to visit Tom and Cheryl. Cheryl just recently had knee surgery, to replace her knee. This is major surgery, and she is now in recovery. Doing very well, and will probably kick my butt for posting this picture that I am about to!

She can get around with a walker and cane, but movement is slow. She had a therapy session when we were there, and hopefully she will soon be able to run the marathon again soon! We are sure hoping to run into her and Tom this winter down at Frost Proof! That is the goal!

Left Richmond Hill, and headed up to Orillia, about an hour and a half north on Hwy. 400 to have dinner with my Mom, and take another look at her computer. Seems it was not receiving it's email right.

Bless Judy's heart, she got onto Rogers Live Chat support, and the operator soon had control of my Mom's Computer, and in a jiffy had it all fixed up and receiving email again!

While Judy was busy taking care of the computer I was talking with Mom, who gave me all kinds of stuff from when I was a kid. Gotta love Mom's. One item was my High School Diploma from Park Street Collegiate in Orillia! Yes, I passed!

Check out this handsome dude above! Wow... what a great looking guy. Yes, it is me, probably when I am about 4 or 5 years old??? This was taken by the fireplace in our Family home, in City of Two Mountains, in the Province of Quebec. Yes, I was born in Montreal, and yes, I speak english! I know, hard to believe.

Gotta go and look through the rest of the stuff she gave me.

Till tomorrow...

Perfect day today!

Give Mother Nature credit, she got it right! Perfect day today... lots of sun, and about 20 degrees C. this afternoon.

We spent the morning in Town, with Kristina and the kids. Above you can see Judy and Gwenny tearing up the roller slide which is Gwenny's favourite by far...

Check out this 8 second video on Youtube and you will see Gwenny's favourite activity at the park... she can do this all day long!

We took the time to take the kids for a nice walk around Southside Park. Lots of water around here.

If you look careful above, this duck has 10 ducklings with her... just not all in this picture above...

These two Geese above, seemed to really like the nice landscaping provided by the City! Why not!

This afternoon we had to do a bit of shopping, and Judy had to re-do some blood work like I did. Got it all taken care of. Had time to do an oil change on my 750 Honda this afternoon, along with a couple small maintenance items. It was a perfect day to be working outside... had to put the canopy out so I could work in the shade. Bike all set to go!

While I was busy on the motorcycle, Judy was planting more spring and summer flowers getting our lot all fixed up for the summer.

Overall, just a great day. Enjoyed happy hour with our neighbour John who just arrived back up from spending the winter in Florida... about 20 minutes from where we stayed.

Judy is going into take care of Charlie this evening for Kristina and Chris... trying to get them a bit of sleep.

Till tomorrow...

Weather warp????

What is going on here... For the past few nights, we have been freezing here in Southern Ontario... pumping gallon after gallon of propane into our Furnace to keep warm.

Now it seems, in a day or two, we are going to have to fire up our AC units up on the roof! It is heading up to 32 Deg. C. What is going on... have we pushed Mother Nature too far?

Simply not a lot on the go today... a day of rest.

Till tomorrow...

Sun comes up...activities go up!

Yes, it is all relative...turned out to be a beautiful day here... only just above 15 deg. C. but the sun was out full force all day, and that just makes the difference!

I started off this morning, doing a small RV renovation. Judy wanted me to get rid of some carpeting on the back of the riser, leading from the RV into the cab of our GMC 5500. There is a step down into the cab.

You can see a small piece of the grey carpeting on the riser above...

This is sort of an overhead shot... Judy wanted some hard floor put on that raw plywood you see.

You can see above where I have started laying the new hard floor... those wires on the left side are for our Shaw Direct TV Leads, and get hidden. The hard floor pattern does not match our new tile floor in the RV, but that does not really matter, as you do not see it from inside the RV anyways... job is now 100 percent finished, but I forgot the end pic. It looks good!

While I was doing flooring, Judy and Kristina took the kids to a Church Bazar in Town today.

Kristina had Charlie in her sling, while Gwenny runs everywhere now of course!

A good time was reported by all, but I am not sure of the $$$ count on this one....

After lunch, and full of energy, I had made arrangements for Chris to help me change out the spark plugs on our Jeep. I had of quote of $300.00 from a garage in Florida to do this, and thought, hey, wait a minute, we might be able to do this ourselves.

Chris was right into it this afternoon, dirty hands and all... we used an air compressor to get rid of all the small grains of sand and dirt on the motor, as you don't want it going down the spark plug holes.

It took us an hour to do the six cylinder motor in the Jeep, and then we turned our attention to Chris' Mazda. In 45 minutes we were able to do the 4 cylinder motor, and we were done! Jeep plugs are now good for 100,000. So, instead of a $300.00 bill, I ended up spending $60.00 for the six Bosche Spark Plugs. The best part was Chris supplied the beer we drank afterwards to celebrate a good job! Thanks for your help Chris!

While we were doing cars, Judy made a big pot of Chili this afternoon, and we all put a big dent in it during supper!

Weather is sure looking better heading forward... here is hoping!

Till tomorrow...

Winter sets in...

Sure felt like it today... man, was it cold here this morning. Hopefully it warms up this weekend.

Judy went into Town this morning to help out Kristina a bit, and they ended up visiting "The Early Years Centre"... a place all little people gather at.

Who does not like play dough...

Granny got in on some action with Gwenny... playing up a storm.

Of course Charlie was up to his normal..... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

I was out at the RV doing a few minor repair items... had to replace the latch on our screen door as the spring broke on the latch.

Also we had a problem with one of our main light that we use all the time inside the RV in the Living Room section. You would hit the switch and it would take about 3 to 5 seconds before the light came on... what's with that?

This is a 12 volt double light fixture with the switch in the middle...

It was real simple to do the wiring... just 2 leads off the light... I decided to switch it for one in our bedoom area, as there are three there, and we never used the one furthest back. It was still like new.

Ever wonder what is up in you ceiling??? When I took the fixtures off the ceiling, I had a big hole where all the wires came out to attach to the fixture. There was a steel beam I could see, right up against the outer layer of fibreglass. There was also over 4 inches of insulation in our ceiling! This makes heating and cooling the RV much easier! Once I put the wonky fixture back in the bedroom, of course it worked fine... so go figure.

Had to put the plants away tonight, as we are supposed to get frost!

Till tomorrow...

Man... not another medical day...

Yeah... back to the Dr. again today... getting to be a habit it seems...

I had to go and get yet another scan done on my thyroid gland. I have blogged about this in the past, as it has happened about 7 or 8 times already. This requires a trip into London for the necessary equipment, which is now located right inside my Dr.'s building... perfect. I also received a call last week from our Dr.'s Office, telling me I had to go back for a repeat blood test, as I guess they could not believe the first set of blood tests I gave them.

Charles and Kristina came with me, as Charles had to be weighed. Turns out he is feeding all the time and gaining weight... so all is good!

Not much else on the go here, other than some real lousy weather, if you want some... let me know!

Till tomorrow...

Back to the Dentist today...

Had to go back to the Dentist for an extraction and restoration today...

Need I say anymore...

Till tomorrow...

Phew...a day off to recover...

We sure had a great long weekend weather wise here in Ontario, but it did end in a Big Bang, as the thunderstorms hit later last night bringing a big light show with them.

Today we were real warm again, and although it threatened to rain, it never really did, so it was nice.

Son in Law Chris, loves his garden, and he got a good start at it yesterday.... here he is above in the early planting stages. This is a guy who draws up a garden plan on graph paper before he starts doing anything... he takes this very serious, and it is probably one of the best stress relief programs you can have, plus you get to eat your hard work! Now if he can only convince his cat that this is not the "kittly litter box"...

Driving into Town today, came across all this activity in a big old Farmers Field! They are getting ready to start building homes in this particular area... I could sit and watch this all day with the big earth movers!

Chris' Mom and Dad, along with Judy and I, are helping the kids out with some meals. Today, I made one of my special dinners, stuffed manicotti! I got it all ready, and delivered it to the house this afternoon. We will go in and enjoy the meal with them tomorrow night. I made lots of extra, so some for the freezer as well!

While I was in Town on the delivery, I found the kids all at the park playing, as it was so nice outside. I grabbed this picture above of Charlie sitting on the top of the stroller, which is now a double stroller, as Gwenny sits on the front in her seat! Very cool. Next year, this model will come with a small V8 motor operated from the back!

Penny for your thoughts!

While we were down in Florida this winter, Canada did away with the use of the penny. We now round up or down to avoid anything needing a penny when it comes to prices.

IT WORKS!

I do not have to carry around a pocket full of pennies anymore, that I never use, but don't want to throw away, as I am cheap, just like 99% of other Canadians! Wonder what happened to all those pennies???

Till tomorrow...
