A bit of help for our Troops!

Another gorgeous day here in Muskoka.   It is the annual sidewalk sale downtown Gravenhurst so the main street is closed off, and today the whole place was crowded with many a tourist!  All of them looking for somewhere to leave their money!

I went down to our local Sobey’s Grocery Store this afternoon, to help BBQ some sausage and hot dogs in support of our Troops fighting in Afghanistan.  Bob from our motorcycle riding club is very active in our local Legion, and they were helping Sobeys with the BBQ and getting people to sign a hugh banner that will be sent to Afghanistan to the troops.  All money raised from the BBq will also go directly to the troops.  Sobey’s donated all the food used!  They are doing this right across Ontario from what I hear.  We were really busy all afternoon, and quite a bit of money was raised in Gravenhurst alone today!

Now this next part of the blog is a little on the technical side of things tonight.  If you recall  back to my recent trip to Ellicottville, to go to the AVA rally, my roommate Jim C. from Gravenhurst, had his Gold Wing that run into problems with a burned out stator… it had to be towed back home.  Jim is now in the process of doing a retro fit to the Gold Wing, in the form of adding an alternator to take the place of the stator.  It is what ends up providing power for the bike to run, and re-charge the battery.

You can see how he has added it here in this picture.  It will eventually be covered by the lower fairings and will not be seen.

This is a big job, and I think Jim had done real good in getting it to fit.  About another week and he hopes to have it on the road again… here is hoping Jim!

This picture sure makes the whole process look a little complicated!

This evening Judy and I went to the Movies in Orillia, to watch the new movie out by Julia Roberts, Eat,Pray,Love.   It was very well done we enjoyed watching it.  Judy had read the book, and said there were quite a few differences.

Looks like rain in the works for tomorrow Sad smile

Till tomorrow…
