Checking things out...

Our temperatures hit just about 80 deg. F. here today, real pleasant! We took life a bit easy today, starting off by doing a whole bunch of walking around our Park. Judy did 5 miles, while I carried on and did about 7 1/2 miles today... gotta stay in shape!

There has been quite a bit of rain here over the past month or so, so all of our grass is real green and looking nice in the park. The Park workers had just finished cutting our grass for us yesterday, so we are looking good. Last year at this time, our grass was brown and dormant. Oh, and it was a real good thing that it did not rain last night, as I guess I forgot to close the sunroof on the Cruze...oooppppssss, first time that I have done that. At least it sure gets lots of use around here!

Judy was showing me her form around the pool table this afternoon, beating me in the first game, but I came back for victory in the second game... did not have time for the rubber match, will have to be another day.

While we were in the pool room, we were right beside the fitness centre. We had to check it out, to make sure it is ready for Tom and Cheryl. They are going to be arriving in Frostproof soon, and Tom loves to come down here just about every day and pump the iron!

I have been lost in a good book for the past week and a half, "In a Time of War" written by Bill Murphy Jr.

This is a great storey about life at West Point, and how the graduates view life in a time of war. Specifically the Class of 2002, which President George Bush addressed at commencement, and then abruptly sent most of them over to fight in Iraq and Afganistan. The book gives you great insight into life inside the U.S. Military, and how people were treated. I am about 3/4 the way through, and have trouble putting this one down.

Till tomorrow...

  2. It's probably better not to play the rubber game. It's better to loose the game than the battle.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.
