I am just posting a quick blog tonight as we are at the Best Western Seven Seas Hotel in beautiful San Diego, California.
We left Yuma early this morning and made our day longer right away by going back 1 hour as soon as we crossed into California. We drove out through the Imperial Sand Dunes, and on to El Centro. Headed north out of El Centro and were amazed at the amount of farm land. We made it into Palm Springs which is a beautiful spot and ready for any tourist. Heading west out of Palm Springs we headed towards Los Angeles, but cut the downtown portion out and headed south to the Pacific Coast Highway, which leads into San Diego. The coastal highway was Judy's idea, and a good one. It was a nice drive right along the coast, although we hit some sea fog just south of Los Angeles. Our luck lived, and the fog cleared off and we could see the Pacific Ocean and the coast line of California, it is real nice. It was a bit cool by the Ocean, but very comfortable. We stopped at a couple beaches where they were all out surfing in the Ocean.
Just outside of Palm Springs you will find a whole bunch of these things, but not too many were turning today as there was very little wind, but lots of blue sky....
All of a sudden the fog lifted, and the sky was blue again and all was good! We stopped at this little beach along the way... have to thank Judy for all the pictures tonight as I did not bring the download cord for my camera with me.
This dude was hanging 10 at the beach...
There were many of these on the beach... commonly referred to as "tourists"....they come in many sizes and varieties.....
You can't really see them here, but we were all watching about 30 surfer dudes out on the Pacific...as you can tell, the sun was starting to set in the west... which only proves to you that we were on the west coast of North America!
Made it eventually down to San Diego and took a couple of extra minutes to locate our hotel, but we did and went out for dinner at the restaurant. After dinner John and Pat went for a walk, while Judy and I opted for the hot tub which was great!
Plans for tomorrow may include Sea World, time will tell...
Till tomorrow...
