Fall Colour Ride...

When we got up this morning, I was a little upset, as it was very overcast, and cloudy... however... that did not last long, and before you knew it, the sun was starting to show.

After a great breakfast, we were outside preparing our rides for the day.

This first pic is looking down Cathy and Larry's drive way... such a great setting to take off from...

After we checked all the tire pressures on the bikes, we were ready to head out... Larry, our Ride Captain for the day, had a great route lined up for us, heading north to Thornbury area.

Below we stopped of course for a coffee break part way up north... it turned out great, with temps over 20 deg. C. Simply perfect!

It wasn't long, and we started into the fall colours... they were brilliant today, and the camera does not really do it all justice, but it is the best I can do to show you!

We drove up through such places as Dundalk, Flesherton, and a bunch of other small bergs in this part of the Province. Below is a shot from a lookout at the Beaver Valley.... you can ski in the winter in this area.

You can see the ski slopes below... just add about 3 feet of snow and you are good to go.

We all had to pose for the obligatory blog photos...
OK, now our turn below...
We made it to Thornbury for lunch, and took in the big dam/fish ladder before we ate... What a complex... and the were actually salmon swimming up stream to spawn, using the ladder.
The fish enter the ladder on the lower right, and make their way up to the upper left... what a sight.

This is the dam they have to make it over... about 50 feet from what I could tell...

We had lunch at "The Mill"... and sat out on the balcony...

Of course Larry and I had the fish and chips! It was fantastic...

On the way home we found lots of leaves, and a few llama's.... check out the little baby...

He was keeping an eye on us, as we took his pic...

Fantastic day! Loved every minute... great to be retired!

Welcome to Kris Watson, our newest blog follower tonight!

Till tomorrow...

  1. What a great way to spend a fall day. You captured some colorful autumn foliage. That baby llama is sure cute. Too bad they can have such nasty dispositions when they grow up.
