No, I have never been to Dollywood, but had heard about it! Sorry about the missed blog last night, but on Monday morning we decided to head off to see what Dollywood was all about!
First thing we ran into was Peggy Sues Burger Pitt where they had a bunch of old cars… and we were able to ride them…
Judy’s and Paige’s Thunderbird had too much wax on the hood so it had way too much shine…
Emmie loves to drive, while I was honking the horn and listening to the 60’s music playing on the radio in our car…
Dollywood of course is owned by Country Singer, “Dolly Parton”. It is a hugh complex built for everyone to have fun… they even have a full blown steam engine and train that climbs up to the top of the mountain inside the park…
This engine is called “Cinderella” and was actually used to build the Alaska Highway, just after the attack on Pearl Harbour… the highway was built to protect Alaska. Yes, it burns coal!
They are in the process of re-building this one as well.
All aboard!
One of Emmie’s favourite rides… (mine too…)
Shawn and Jenn took Emmie on the roller coaster…
Quack Quack…
Bzzzzzzzzzz…
Ever hear of “flying elephants”???
Shawn won Emmie this monkey and a guitar at the “guess your weight/age/birth month booth”…
Seemed to have cut the Dr.’s head off… sorry…
Jenn took Paige on the Ferris Wheel…
while Shawn and I shot the place up…
Every now and then you had to wait while the Dollywood Express went by…
We had dinner at a great restaurant inside the park and were entertained by Miss Lillian, as we were in Miss Lillian’s Chicken House! She was good!
After dinner we had lots of energy for the obstacle course…
Shawn and Jenn took in a couple of the big person rides… not for me! This thing ROCKED!
For only .25 cents we got a shower…
We were at the park until 7:00 p.m. and had a delay with traffic and did not get home until after blog posting time… overall, we had a blast! One of the best days out just goofing around that I can remember…
Today was spent taking life easy… but I did find a Hobby Town Store and stocked up on some needed airplane parts!
Till tomorrow…
I love Dollywood. We use to work and a campground near Pigeon Forge, and had free tickets to Dollwood and the Dixie Stampede, what fun!!!
