Happy New Year everyone!
WARNING: THIS BLOG CONTAINS PICTURES OF SNOW… CAUTION IS ADVISED!
We woke up this morning with a bit of a chill in the air. It was only 37 degrees this morning, but I figured it was better than 19 degrees that the Bayfield Bunch had in Arizona!
We were off into Palm Springs early to Best Buy, as Tom and Cheryl wanted to pick up a new computer while they were here. Mission accomplished as they found a nice Toshiba lap top.
Next we were off to the Street Market that runs on the weekends. It was nice and sunny so not so bad at the market.
Tom had never come across an orange tree in his life time so he was checking it out!
He was trying to hide what he took off the tree, but it was obvious…
After the market we figured we had plenty of time to go up the mountains into Idyllwilde, Ca. Here is Palm Springs from about 2,500 feet up.
At about 5,000 feet, we started to get into the snow, and many people were stopping so the kids, big and small could get out and just be kids!
The Town of Idyllwilde is a quaint little town built for the tourist!
We did a tour of the downtown area, and left them some of our $$$$$$$…..
We carried on back down, and did not doddle too long downtown, as Tom and I still had our shorts on… only a few people were laughing at us… and they all seemed to know we were Canadian!
We were checking out a lookout here…
We came back down in Banning, Ca. where we caught #10 and headed back into Desert Hot Springs. Simply a great day!
Tom and Cheryl treated us to dinner tonight in Palm Springs at a lovely Italian Restaurant, but according to the picture, I was sleeping during dinner… actually it was very good, thanks Guys!
Just a terrific day in the Desert, even if we got up into the snow!
Till tomorrow…
Nice pics of your day in Idyllwilde, it brought back some memories as we were there last year and remember the snow as well. Looks like you had a great day!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see photos of that ride. We weren't able to do that while we were there due to the weather. Little backstory, I went to church camp in Idyllwilde for many years back in the mid-50's as a kid. Some of my best growing up in LA kid memories.

ReplyDeleteAlmost heeded the warning, but was not too traumatized. Looks like a nice day.
