Our trek east continues....

When we woke up this morning it was only 23 degrees F. YIKES... it was cold... However with the sun out, it started to warm up real quick, and turned into a nice day overall. We were on the road by about 9:00 with Judy behind the steering wheel just a motoring... As we headed out of New Mexico, the next State is Texas and we just kept on going.... it was a good day for driving, not much wind and clear. This rock formation below was one of the few we ran into today.... other than that, man, it is flat out here with a whole bunch of nothing....

When we started across Texas, we saw a few long horned cattle..... there had to be 50 highway signs telling us if we stopped at this Restaurant in Amarillo, you could get a free 72 oz. steak if you ate it all in one sitting.... right!

We only have to cross a small section of Texas when you travel the highway 40, and by the end of the afternoon we hit the Oklahoma State Border. We have stopped for the night at a quiet RV Park just 1 mile in Oklahoma. We have dropped to about 2,300 feet in elevation and it is a lot warmer here than it was back in New Mexico... that's for sure... In the picture below, this group built this cross first, and now they are in the process of starting to build the Church to go with it. It is a huge Cross, and you could see it about 10 miles away.

This is our site tonight, and as you can tell, it was a lovely evening. We went out for a walk around and talked to a few other RVer's. Look at the leaves on the trees beside and behind the RV.... almost fully grown.... bet there not growing yet up in Muskoka...

That is about it for tonight.... we had a nice dinner, and watched a movie... hope to be on the road first thing tomorrow and would like to get close to Branson, which is in Oklahoma, where we might pull up for a couple of days and re-charge our batteries!

We also entered the Central Time Zone today, so we are only 1 hour behind.... catching up! Makes for short days though... two in a row with only 23 hours...

Till tomorrow....
