It's not always.... "One Big Holiday"....

Another warm sunny day in San Diego today. We enjoyed our coffee outside as we decided what plans to work towards today. Turns out we decided it was a "maintenance" type day. Number one thing on the list, was I wanted to get the oil changed on our Dura Max Diesel Engine that powers the Big Wheels. After doing a bit of searching, and calling, I finally found a spot that could do the job. Not all garages are equipped or are "willing" it seems to do the job. Jiffy Lube said to bring it on... so we packed it up for moving, and I drove over to Jiffy Lube while Judy and Patra enjoyed some warm California sunshine at the RV Resort on our semi empty lot. It is a very complicated type engine, and it holds 17 Quarts of Diesel Oil.... yikes....

The oil change took a couple hours to take care of, and when I got back to the park, we had lunch and then I wanted to grease the hubs of our Motorcycle Trailer. It has what is called "bearing buddies" on the hubs, and you have to remove the wheel to grease them. Well, I soon figured out for some reason, I had no tire wrench to remove the wheels off the trailer.... glad to find out now, and not down some lonely strip of desert when we have a flat tire! So it was off to Wallmart where I picked up a new wrench and some other needed items and back to the RV Resort. I got every thing greased, so we are now ready to start rolling again! These items seemed to take our whole day! Go figure...

We walked down to the beach before dinner, and some kids had been busy...

One little old seagull on the beach...

Not very busy on the beach this afternoon....

As we walked along, a bunch of rowers were getting their boats into the water to go for a spin...

They had real nice boats that held 5 in each one... part of the San Diego Rowing Club...

Here they are have a group meeting prior to going out, to discuss safety items and stuff like that.
This guy pulled in with this boat, and it was hard to tell who was pulling who.... the boat was BIG... and the truck had a bit of a struggle pulling it... they got it in the water... no problems...I took this picture for Judy's brother Bob, and his Wife, Kate. Some people pulled in and are camping in this motor home. It is built by GMC. Bob and Kate have one of these units, that need to be restored. I forgot what age these are, but they were only built for a short period of time. Note the dual real wheels... They are made of fibreglass and are kind of neat. This one appeared fully restored, and in good shape!

This is a rear view, note the chrome rear fender, and dual awnings on the sides... very cool.

The weather is improving for the weekend! It is great now.... how much better can it get?

Till tomorrow....
