Being wild up at Wildwood!

Just a terrific day here for weather in Ontario, high about 28 deg. C. and nice and sunny with very little humidity makes for a great day.

We decided first thing to head up to the Wildwood Conservation Area up at St. Mary's and splash around with the kayaks again! I know, you have to be sick of seeing kayak pictures but here we go again!

Cheryl was fighting a boat wake in the picture above... as it was the weekend, there were the weekend warriors out on the water ways. They all stay in the centre of the lake between the buoys while we in the kayaks stay closer to the shore.

Wildwood is a large conservation area, that again, like Lake Pittock is man made with a dam. We were eating our bag lunches above before heading out...

Turned out to be a great day on the water, and my Magellan GPS told me that by the time we paddled down to the end of the lake and back up it was 5.5 miles! No wonder my arms were getting sore! We also had to fight a big wind coming back up the lake, and that took a lot of effort! After all that kayaking we deserved ice cream treats in at St. Mary's after we left the park!

Here we are loading the four kayaks back into Tom and Cheryl's "Big Moe" GMC Denali for the ride back to Woodstock... only 1/2 an hour when you take the right roads... seems we didn't on the way there with a faulty back seat navigator... sorry folks.

Till tomorrow...

  1. Wildwood is another nice place to visit, and so many back roads to explore around there can be fun.
