Not much to report on here for the last couple days... things have slowed down a bit, probably due to lots of rain, although it was nice and warm here today...
Judy had an appointment over at our Dr.'s Office in London to have a small "removal" from the side of one of her hands... pleased to say the patient is doing just fine this evening and is still capable of handing all different kinds of domestic duties!
This afternoon we spent visiting Kristina at the house, while the kids slept the afternoon away! We were talking about some changes they would like to make to their home, that may turn into this years project! More on that later...
I have been keeping myself busy during the rains lately, by getting into a real good book. The book is called "Lone Survivor" and was written by Marcus Luttrell and Patrick Robinson. Marcus is a U. S. Navy SEAL, and this book is based on a deployment he made to Afganistan. Specifically, the book is about one particular mission (Operation Redwing) in the mountains Marcus made, with three other SEALS. The book is real hard to drop, and that is good, as I am reading it on my iPad! I borrowed this book from the Woodstock Library, and was number 36 on the waiting list. I was in Florida when I signed up for it.
I learned about this book at the Church we attended in Winter Haven over the winter. Marcus Luttrell is also a Christian, and I find the book really interesting, learning about his views as a Navy SEAL.
The book has also been made into a movie, staring Mark Wahlberg, one of my favourite actors. I will track down the movie after I have finished the book. I am about 1/2 way through the book, and it is simply excellent. The first couple of chapters are based on what it took for him to be accepted into the SEAL Program. I won't get into what happens during the mission they are on, but I find it better than the story around the capture and killing of Bin Laden.
Anyways, if you are looking for a great read, give it a try!
Till tomorrow...
Sounds like a good book, thanks for the recommendation.
