Not too much on the go today, other than I had an appointment at Woodstock Optical, to have them check out my eyes. It has been a couple years since I upgraded by glasses, so off I went. Must say, Dr. Reid did a very impressive job during the examination... which took 45 minutes. No one has ever spent that much time looking into my eyes... well, maybe Judy!
I had noticed my mid range vision was not as clear as I thought it should be. Turns out, my right eye has become weaker than my left eye... go figure... Good news is, everything inside my eyes is good, and my vision can easily be corrected with a new set of binoculars that I can strap on my face! New lenses and frames will be ready in a week. How much did you ask??? How about $80.00 for the examination and assessment, and $400.00 for the new glasses which include a pair of fancy clip on sunglasses. Good thing we have eye coverage through Judy's past employment, so the bill goes off to Sun Life!
I like to keep the glasses up to date, to avoid straining your eyes, and bringing on needless headaches!
This morning, Kristina and Gwenny came out to the RV for a swim, as again it was a very hot day here, with lots of blue sky and sun.
There was a big new blue ball to play with at the pool, so Gwenny would not leave it alone! As you can see, there were not many swimmer today!
Having fun watching the Olympics!
Till tomorrow...

I just got my eyes examined also. Needed new contacts. My eyes actually have gotten better...yea for me.
ReplyDeleteYou must have had a bug in your eyes for Judy to look into them for 45 minutes...I'm just sayin!
ReplyDeleteGood to see Gwenny in the pool again!
time for new glasses here, too..maybe some 'rose-coloured' ones to make things seem a wee bit brighter!
ReplyDeleteEyes are so expensive! My first appointment resulted in a reading glass prescription. I spent $120 and then found out I could get the same darn things at Walmart for less than $10! I need to go back in soon, but my Walmart glasses are doing the trick for now so I'm going to put it off for just one more little month.
ReplyDeleteAh, how I'd love to jump into that pool right about now!
We don't have eyeglass coverage so last winter we went to Algodones Mexico had the eye exam done and two pair of trifocals with frames, one with transition lenses (get dark in the sun) for a total cost of $160.00 Canadian. A better price when it comes out of our pockets.
ReplyDeleteI had my eyes checked in April. I have worn contacts since I was 15 and the right eye has always been a little better than the left. For years, instead of bifocals, I used one contact in the weak eye and nothing in the stronger. This last exam, both eyes had improved. Now my strong eye has returned to 20/20 the weak eye is 20/30! Go figure.....

ReplyDeleteGood to have that optical insurance. Your prices seem to be about what we pay in Calif even through our HMO Kaiser. Looked like the perfect pool day for Gwenny.
