We landed in Winter Haven around 2:00 this afternoon, to some nice warm sunshine, but just a bit windy. It took us a while to get checked in, as we wanted to inspect our site and check out the Park, as we have not been here before.
It took most of the afternoon to get set up, and then I even managed to wash the motorcycle trailer down, and got it put away in Park Overflow Parking for Trailers. It will cost us about $150.00 to park our Motorcycle Trailer here for the winter, in a nice fully enclosed compound with good access to get our motorcycles out when we need them.
Above is our site number 16. here at Cypress Gardens RV Park. It is a bit smaller than our corner lot out in Desert Hot Springs, but will do just fine. We arrived and quickly met our neighbours, Ron and Rachael who have just retired in the past year, and came down for the winter from Maine. Real nice people!
This is a view looking up our road... yes, look at that nice blue sky this afternoon. This pic was taken as the sun was going down.
As I got up this morning, I wanted to find out first thing who won the U.S. Election! I went to bed real early last night, and it was all still up in the air and I did not want to stay up! So, I went to bed. This morning, I was surprised to read Rick D's blog and found a full summary of the Election! He must of been up late, but then I thought, hey, wait a minute... he is 3 hours behind us!
Anyways, congratulation to Obama for winning his second term, he would have had my vote!
Must say "hello" tonight to my Mother who is up in Orillia. I was talking to her on the phone this afternoon, and she was telling me how cold it was up there, and that she had to wear her winter coat! Sounds like we got here just in time! Mom is a faithful blog reader! She says she has to keep up on what her little boy is doing!
Till tomorrow...

ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice spot, John, I'm sure you and Judy will enjoy it there - especially those nice blue skies and warm weather. We're getting close to countdown time.
ReplyDeleteSure glad I could be of service in providing you with the best, most up-to-date, breaking news found in blogland.
A settled in and ready for a good winter, but I think you brought some cool weather with you. Today is the coldest we have had here in over a week. But not to worry will get better soon. Enjoy your new home.
ReplyDeleteYea! All set up, you are! Now we look forward to reading your blogs with all the new places you visit in the coming months.
ReplyDeleteI think if they held the election in Canada, Obama would have won too. I guess that means we have very wise neighbors to our north. Enjoy Florida.
ReplyDeleteVery interested in your traveling and landing sites! But WoW! We are certainly not happy with election results. Freedom is a good thing, Dictatorship is not... and that is where we are now headed. It is a sad thing to lose a country we have loved.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you have made it safe and sound. It will be interesting reading about Florida this winter. Even though Rick is writing 'lines' at the end of his blog, we will say WHEW! glad that Obama won. Do we have to write lines now?
ReplyDeleteHope you will like your stay in Winter Haven. We are just up the road in Davenport at Citrus Ridge. Sorry for the cool weather, but it should warm up soon.
ReplyDeleteWe live in Florida, couple weeks ago we stayed at Rock Crusher Canyon in Citrus county. Pretty neat little area lots to do and prices aren't bad - in case your looking for a spot they have almost 400 campsites and there is some space betwen the sites and trees. Enjoy your stay here in Florida.
ReplyDeleteJohn, What made you decide on this campground for your winter stay?
