I woke up early this morning, so enjoyed coffee, breakfast, computers before heading out on the road. Again, we were in rain... man, everything we own needs to be cleaned!
Took this picture of our location at the Country Music RV Park, in New York State... we were right on the pond, and almost had the whole park to ourselves. Good thing we brought water, as they had shut the system down. A bunch of Canadian Geese were enjoying that pond.
We set a plan of about 380 miles today, which is far above what we sort of normally do in a day. Wanted to get to some warmer weather! Ran into a bit of snow on the road... just enough to say we were driving in snow!
Then DISASTER hit! We were cruising on the Interstate 81, and all of a sudden in front of us, was a bucket of metal pieces that fell off someone's truck! Scrap metal all over the Interstate! Yikes! When you have a total of 12 wheels driving on the road, what do you think the chances are of getting a flat? We both rode all over this stuff, and it was flying everywhere... all the cars were trying to avoid it! Well, we won the lottery...sort of to speak. 1 of our 12 tires blew! The lucky winner was the left rear on the Jeep! Judy had people waving her over as they saw the problem. We made it to an off ramp and she got pulled over without losing control! Good news! I made my way back to her after parking the Motorhome up the road a bit, and in about 20 minutes I had changed out our spare, and we were good to go! Now I am glad I checked the air pressure in the spare before we left Ontario! Checklist!
Below is another view of the pond this morning... didn't get any other pictures today... too busy!
Tonight we are in a nice campground on a river, in Virginia. We are about 70 miles west of Washington D.C. so thought I might drive over and offer Obama a few pointers on the up coming election. Sounds like he needs help at this point!
Not sure yet what tomorrow will bring... need to get a tire fixed or replaced, that is for sure! Good news is, it was a Jeep tire, and not a Motorhome tire! That would have been a bummer!
OK, too tired to type anymore... time to relax a bit!
Till tomorrow...

So glad no one was hurt in your mishap. Safe travels tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteglad that no one was hurt, too bad about the jeep tire, but like you said better the jeep than the motorhome!
ReplyDeleteThat was scary, glad it wasn't worse. Safe travels.
ReplyDeleteI sure know about that 'too tired to type feeling.' Your situation could have ended very differently. Glad you both came through that without serious mishap. Things just happen so fast sometimes.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are all ok. Tomorrow is a new day.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got lucky only one flat. Better than our friends the other day with two trailer flats in 30 minutes and only one spare!
ReplyDeleteTravel safe and get to warmer weather soon.
That must have been a scary moment driving through all that scrap metal. Lucky it wasn't worse than just 1 flat tire.
ReplyDeleteHope you find some sunshine soon.
