How much would you pay???

I recently read an article about tech stuff, that I found quite interesing... Google Fibre!

Google is starting up a trial run, in Kansas City, Mo. to see how their new product is received. Kansas City was picked out of 1,100 Cities that wanted to do the test! Like winning a lottery!

Here is what you get!

Blazing fast internet! How about a down load rate of 1 Gig per second! That is even faster than everyone leaving work in Toronto on a Friday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. This speed is 100 times faster than the current internet speed in Kansas City! That is fast!

There is no cap on the data for the internet you use! Bonus!

You get a free Nexus 7 Tablet which you use on the internet, and it also acts as a remote control for the TV portion of you plan.

Yes, Fibre TV. You get more channels than you can watch, and you can PVR up to 8 programs at the same time! Can you say NHL Hockey? You also get a 2 terabyte storage box for that PVR! Amazing! Of course , the TV is all in HD.

You also get Google Drive, which sincs all you devices to share the same data. Good stuff!

So, how much is all this worth, and how much are you willing to pay??? How about $120.00 a month for the whole shooting match! It sounds like a lot, but when you think about it, it might be a deal! Go figure that Google would get into delivery of the internet and TV! Apparently you can get this in September if you live in Kansas City. Probably will not take too long to spread! Come on Ma Bell, bring it on!

You can get just the internet portion for $70.00 a month if you don't want all that TV.

Kristina was not feeling well this morning, so Judy and I headed into Town to help out a bit with Gwenny. We took her over to the local park, as it was a beautiful, sunny morning here again! (Start broken record now...)

Gwenny wants to walk everywhere she goes now, and I seem to end up with a sore back, bending over to help her all the time! What a kid!

Gwenny also likes the water as you all know, and I had to take one for the team here, getting a bit of an unexpected shower trying to take this picture... the smart phone took a shower as well, but all is good!

Our Park owner Ron, was working with his son in law, Scott, on building some new camp sites today. They had a neat little bulldozer and a tractor going, and I sat for 20 minutes just sucking it all in... why do I love watching machines work so much??? Crazy, but fun!

Till tomorrow...

  1. I think Google is going to take over the world haha!! It sounds pretty good though.

You are such a good grandpa. I remember those days of hunched over hand holding while the wee ones learned to walk. Soon you won't be able to keep up with her.

  7. That speed would be awesome, especially if we could get it on the road. We pay more that that now for internet and Tv.
